My kind of recycling.....

What an ingenious way of seperating a space! Designers on a regular basis have a ridiculous accumulation of magazines which can't bear to be seen to be thrown away...... why not simply create a wall with them?! Love the chairs too!!

Inspirational media work.........

This poster is a work of art to me.
It's layout is clean-cut and classic and the typeface really draws in the reader, I just love it. I was so mesmerised by the poster design itself I had to take a second look to figure out what it was advertising.....
A lecture/ discussion to debate the question 'What objects have the moral right to enter the 21st century?' put forward by Alessandro Mendini's in 1980 and to be discussed in the present day by the panelists
of the Liu Lectures. Take a look for yourselves: http://liulectures.blogspot.com/

Seamless and practical.....

I love simple, structural designs such as these. Changing everyday chores into pieces of art- very impressive!

Superfolk

Yes indeed they are super! Super in everything they design and create..... I pay homage to Superfolk as I think their work is simply stunning. They have taken natural materials and shaped them in a practical and simple way where the attention to detail is astounding.
If I ever owned a piece of furniture by Superfolk I would sit and stare and be engulfed in my own happiness! Yes, I may be obsessed!
Take a look and get carried away too..........

Blogger envy.....

Whilst having a usual nosey on the down right inspirational RoomEnvy blog, I stumbled across this beauty:
An old toothpaste factory conversion, lovingly restored and maintained as a family home by Erin and Ben in Mississippi.
I can't get enough of factory renovations and this
quirky one ticks all the boxes. Check out the creative desk unit- what I would give to have one of those!! I also love the mix of dark woods with distressed, almost pastel shades of colour- really nice contrast. Plus the smaller details, such as the original ceiling fan and 'private mens club' pendant lights....... fantastic find RoomEnvy!

Inspired by Chanel.....

With recent excursions taking place with my uber trendy friends, I couldn't help but notice there seemed to be a repetition of the beautiful and ever so chic presence of horizontal black and white striped t's.
This to me is fantastic news as following viewing Coco Before Chanel, I desperately wanted to replicate her effortless style and now we all have the excuse! Plus, where can you go wrong with nautical!
I thought I'd put forward a few images of inspiration to aide the style of the moment- because timeless design is the best type of inspiration!
I'm all for the Nautical theme..... although I do end up simply looking like a try hard boater!!

The Exterior Transformation

Ignoring the odd looking individual who seems to have stolen my boat.......
this is the hand-finished exterior!
Lovingly stripped back and repainted. With a love for ArtDeco, you can see where the design influence for the sign came from!
